Homeless Prevention Council Confidentiality Policy
Respecting the privacy of the Homeless Prevention Council (HPC) clients, donors, board members, staff, and volunteers is a basic value of HPC.
In the course of volunteer service to HPC, volunteers may be exposed to personal and financial information which is confidential and/or privileged and proprietary in nature. A volunteer should not disclose or discuss such information with anyone without permission or authorization from the volunteer's supervisor. A volunteer should also take care to ensure that unauthorized individuals do not overhear any discussion of confidential information and that documents containing confidential information are not left in the open or inadvertently shared. It is the policy of HPC that such information must be kept confidential both during and after volunteer service.
Volunteer's Acknowledgement of Confidentiality
I agree to treat as confidential the following information I learn during the performance of my duties as a volunteer of Homeless Prevention Council (HPC):
- all information about clients or former clients and their families; and
- personal and financial information of HPC and its donors, staff, board members, and volunteers is confidential and/or privileged and proprietary in nature.
I understand that it would be a violation of HPC policy to disclose such information to anyone without checking first with my supervisor.
